The government has spent Ksh230 million in fighting the desert locusts which have invaded various parts of the country.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya said the government intends to spend a further Ksh300 million in locust control, an exercise projected to proceed until June.

The Agriculture CS is expected to flag off three additional planes on Wednesday which is aimed at stepping up aerial spraying programme in locust infested counties.
