Drama ensued at a roadblock in Voi when police officers tried to arrest Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.
Metropol TV understands that Governor Sonko tried to escape arrest after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji issued warrant of arrest on Friday morning for Sonko’s prosecution.

Governor Sonko has been arrested due to corruption allegations levelled against him. According to DPP Haji, there was embezzlement of Ksh375 million public funds in Nairobi County under Governor Sonko’s watch.
He will spend the weekend in a police cell in Nairobi awaiting arraignment in court on Monday.
