Vodacom Tanzania has introduced M-Pesa Global Payment, which will allow more than 22 million M-Pesa users to pay merchants in China, Dubai, Uganda, and other locations where Visa is accepted.
It is a new set of international payment features powered by partnerships with Visa, Alipay (China), Middle Eastern payment networks Network International and Magnati, and MTN Uganda.
“We are enabling people and businesses to transact across borders as easily as they do locally—securely, instantly, and affordably,” said Epimack Mbeteni, M-Pesa Director at Vodacom Tanzania.
A major highlight of the rollout is M-Pesa Tap & Pay, the first feature of its kind in Africa. Built on Visa’s tokenisation technology, it lets customers make contactless payments worldwide using their phones. Users generate a secure virtual Visa card within the M-Pesa app, allowing them to tap at any Visa-enabled point-of-sale terminal globally, removing the need for a physical card.
“This innovation supports Tanzania’s shift toward a fully digital payments ecosystem and gives consumers and businesses more modern ways to pay,” said Victor Makere, Visa’s Country Manager for Tanzania.
The new platform also expands key international trade routes like Alipay, where Tanzanian importers can now pay Chinese merchants directly,.
Tanzania imported $862 million worth of goods from China in September 2025 alone and the new feature is supported by global payments provider Thunes.

A deal with MTN Uganda will also enable M-Pesa users to make merchant payments directly into MTN MoMo wallets.
This is, however, not new in the region. In June 2022, Safaricom and Visa introduced the first M-PESA GlobalPay Visa Virtual card which opened global shopping for Kenyan consumers.
It allows secure cashless payments at merchant locations in over 200 countries through Visa’s global network.
Transactions are only possible through card details and where users generate the “CVV” required to confirm online card transactions, manage their cards, set up repeat payments and access their Mini-Statement.
The M-PESA GlobalPay Visa Virtual Card is exclusive for international, online payments outside the country to protect customers from incurring forex conversion costs on local online payments billed in Kenya Shillings.
Vodacom believes M-Pesa, already deeply integrated into Tanzania’s financial system—can offer a familiar, regulated, and efficient solution for international transactions.
“Together, we are opening new trade corridors, reducing business costs, and giving customers greater freedom to participate in the global digital economy,” Mbeteni added.

I enjoy classic maze puzzles; the challenge of increasingly complex levels sounds fun. I’ll probably check the details on https://hypackelgames.com/games/mazean to see if there’s a mobile version.
This sounds like a great way to make mental math practice entertaining with the design element. I was looking more into the star system on https://hypackelgames.com/games/math-gardens; how fast do the difficulty levels scale?
SG77casino, decent selection of games. Could use a bit of a facelift, but it’s functional. If you’re not picky, give it a try: sg77casino
