President William Ruto hailed the Kenya-China strategic partnership as “permanent, people-centered, and delivering practical, tangible, impactful, and sustainable win-win situations.”
The visit, marked by high-level engagements with Chinese President Xi Jinping, culminated in the signing of 20 trade agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
The agreements, aligned with the Belt and Road Initiative, aim to bolster key sectors of Kenya’s economy, including road infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, the blue economy, green energy, and information and communication technology (ICT).
President Ruto said the commitments reflect China’s steadfast support for Kenya’s economic growth, job creation for its youth, and the unlocking of the nation’s untapped potential.
“China’s investment in our infrastructure and critical sectors is a testament to the strength of our partnership,” said President Ruto.

“These initiatives will create opportunities for Kenyans and drive sustainable development.”
On the diplomatic front, Presidents Ruto and Xi reaffirmed their commitment to promoting unity and cooperation among Global South nations, amplifying their collective voice in international forums.
They also advocated for reforms to the United Nations system, particularly the Security Council, to make it more representative and responsive to current global realities.
As Kenya continues to position itself as a hub for investment and innovation in Africa, the strategic partnership with China is poised to create thousands of jobs for Kenyans.
President Ruto said his initiative to look for partnerships in the east does not imply dropping the west in the wake of ongoing trade tariffs initiated by U.S President Donald Trump.
