Ruto Leaves for Korea to Market Kenya as Investing Partner

President Ruto is set to meet with President Yoon Suk Yeol to assess the progress of their Ksh.132 billion partnership, focusing on projects like water, agriculture, infrastructure, and the creative economy.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other leaders bid farewell to President William Rutoas he departed for the Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul.

Gachagua said President Ruto would attend the summit and engage in bilateral discussions to enhance ties between Kenya and Korea.

Other officials accompanying Gachagua were Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.

The summit aims to cover various topics such as trade, industrialization, infrastructure development, and job creation.

This is, however, not the first trip the president is making to South Korea.

He was once in the Asian country in November 2022 for bilateral talks with his counterpart President Yoon Suk Yeol.

On top of his agenda during the tour was exploring areas of cooperation, especially in ICT, education, pharmaceutical and infrastructure.

The Head of State was in South Korea for a three-day official visit at the invitation of President Yoon Suk Yeol.
