Algeria and Slovenia have entered into a new agreement that will see an increase in Algeria’s gas exports to Slovenia.
The deal was finalized between Sonatrach, Algeria’s energy giant, and Geoplin, Slovenia’s natural gas trader, in a signing ceremony in Algiers.
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob were both in attendance for the historic agreement.
The agreement will see Algeria boosting its natural gas exports to Slovenia through the gas pipeline that connects Algeria to Italy.
Diplomatic Visa Exemptions
This move is expected to strengthen the energy relationship between the two countries and enhance their economic cooperation.

In addition to the gas deal, Algeria and Slovenia also signed agreements on diplomatic visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic passports, as well as a memorandum of understanding on artificial intelligence.
The discussions between President Tebboune and Prime Minister Golob also touched on international issues, including the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Prime Minister Golob’s state visit to Algeria marks a significant step in strengthening the ties between the two nations and opening up new opportunities for cooperation in various fields.
