National Bank of Kenya (NBK) scooped four awards in the Think Business Banking Awards 2022.
NBK was feted in four categories including: 1st Runner Up Best Bank in Agriculture and Livestock Financing, 1st Runner Up special judges’ awards for product innovation (for the MajiKonnect offering), 1st Runner Up Chief Executive Officer of the year and 1st Runner Up Best Commercial Bank in microfinance.
Speaking after receiving the awards, the bank’s Director Finance and Strategy, Peter Kioko said that the awards give National Bank pride and inspiration to better serve its customers especially the Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) segment of the market.
“These accolades go further to indicate that we are on the right trajectory and as we continue putting in the hard work, persistence and determination, NBK will surely go to the next level. They go a long way to show that we are not only delivering solutions for our clients, but that they trust us and believe that we support them to achieve their goals,” Kioko said.
In 2021 National Bank was recognized at the same Awards as the top Bank in product innovation category in recognition of innovative products with major impact on the lives of customers based on their usability, access and value.
The Banking Awards by Think Business, a strategic research and competitive intelligence company specializing on the financial sector, have been running for the past 16 years. The main objective of the Awards is to encourage innovation, prudence and stability in the banking sector by recognizing, awarding and celebrating exemplary performers.
The awards recognize banks and micro-lenders for outstanding product innovation and services to both retailers and Small and Medium Enterprises.
