A court in Kajiado has sentenced a man to pay a fine of Ksh.3 million or in default serve a 5-year jail term.
Nick Kinyili Mwendwa, an administration police officer from Imara Daima police post was found guilty of illegal possession of a worked-on elephant tusk in Kitengela in the year 2020.
He was arrested by a multi-agency team on August 13, 2020 after he attempted to sell the elephant tusk.
The accused was convicted and penalized on Friday by Kajiado Principal Magistrate Irene Kahuya.
