Family Bank has launched a series of prepaid cards set to allow customers to transact in multiple currencies.
The facility, which will be accessible internationally, targets traders, travelers, diaspora, and business communities to load numerous currencies including the Euro, Yuan and USD.
Speaking during the launch, Family Bank Chief Executive Rebecca Mbithi noted that this will transform the Bank’s strategic vision of delivering unmatched digital and the customer experience in addressing the specific needs of its clients.
“We are cognizant that one of the ways of deepening financial inclusion across different ages and different types of customers is to diversify the portfolio and drive customer-led innovations that can exceed customer expectations,” said Mbithi.
At the same time, the financial institution unveiled students’ prepaid cards, youth cards and the General Purpose Family Bank Prepaid Card.
With the students’ card, besides parents helping their children learn the saving culture it can be used to purchase online exams as well as E-books online.
“You can use your card to pay for your online exams, save for a birthday trip with your crew, enjoy the massive Black Friday discounts from any store locally or globally – Buy that chic bag or that Fenty lip gloss from Amazon or even the GTA games on your PS 5,” Kevin Ayugi, Chief Digital Officer at Family Bank Kenya said.
Visa Country Lead for Kenya, Eva Ngigi Sarwari reaffirmed the firm’s role in supporting economic growth and financial inclusion through tailored solutions that suit the changing needs of the markets.
