All flights landing at Wilson Airport rerouted to JKIA over poor weather

Incoming flights to Wilson Airport in Nairobi have been rerouted to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) due to bad weather.

Safarilink, a Kenyan operator with regular flights to domestic and regional destination, said air traffic controllers were monitoring the situation before allowing resumption of normal operations.

Temperatures had fallen below 17 degrees centigrade with visibility reduced to about 900m.

The management did not disclose for how long the planes would be landing at JKIA.

“We are currently experiencing bad weather conditions at Wilson Airport, Nairobi and hence all incoming flights are being diverted to land at JKIA. Please bear with us as we continue to monitor the situation.”
