Kenya’s COVID-19 positivity rate up 22.4% with 1,609 new infections

The coronavirus positivity rate jumped to 22.4 percent Friday after 1,609 people tested positive for the virus.

The cases were from a sample size of 7176 that were tested in the past 24 hours.

Only 38 people recovered from the virus with three succumbing to it, shooting the country’s total death toll to 5353.
