Kenya records 188 new coronavirus infections

Kenya’s COVID-19 cases and positivity rate sharply drop

Kenya has reported 188 new cases of COVID-19 from a sample size of 2,354translating to a positivity rate of 8 percent. 

Kenya’s caseload now stands at 188,942

Counties with the highest number of new infections include Nairobi with 128 cases, Kiambu has 10, and Machakos 9 new infections. Siaya, Kwale and Nakuru each has seven new cases.

341 more patients have recovered from the disease, pushing total recoveries to 179,861.

The ministry of health has also reported one more fatality, raising total death to 3,723.

There are 1,062 patients currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, with 120 of them in the intensive care units.

In terms of vaccination, 505,124 people have so far been fully vaccinated.
