Sony finally reveals the PS5 price
By Daisy Okanga | Sony has officially announced the launch date and price of the PS5 just three days after Microsoft revealed the Xbox Series X’s launch date and price, highlighting its aggressive price policy and measures to make the console more transparent than ever.
Sony’s next-gen console will start from Ksh.43, 251 (digital-only version) and will be released for the US and a few other countries on November 12 and for the rest of the world a week after.
Design-wise, the PS5 is a sleek white console with black trim. It’s tall and appears to be thinner than the Xbox Series X.
A media remote control Ksh.3, 252, a camera Ksh.6, 504 and headset Ksh.10, 840 will be offered as accessories. Sony has already opened up pre-orders to select customers who can apply for an invite on its site.
From the moment Microsoft announced the price of its console, the world had been waiting for Sony to spill the beans on its new-gen console.
The price of the consoles is a breaking point for most users. Sony and Microsoft have gone back and forth for years to get an edge over each other.
Sony has been counting on big exclusive games to attract fans to a new generation of console gaming, while Microsoft’s appeal comes from the affordability of the Xbox Game Pass monthly subscription to provide access to loads of games.
