MP Sudi to spend more nights in custody
Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi will spend two more nights in police custody pending a ruling on his bail application.
MP Sudi became the guest of state on Sunday when he surrendered himself to the police and is facing charges of hate speech and incitement.
The prosecution filed a petition at Nakuru Law Courts to have the MP detained for further 14 days pending investigations into the charges.
The Court told the prosecution side that investigations will entail extraction and analysis by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Forensic Lab of the video clip containing speeches made by Sudi on September 7, 2020.
The Kapseret MP is facing accusations of hate speech, assault of a police officer, offensive conduct, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition and resisting arrest.
