COVID-19 global and Kenya update
The global coronavirus cases have crossed the 8 million mark and currently stand at 8,119,575 with 439,217 fatalities and 4,231,974 recoveries. The number of confirmed cases in the United States of America now stands at 2,182,950 with 118,283 deaths and 889,866 recoveries.
Brazil follows the United States of America with 891,556 confirmed covid-19 cases, 44,118 deaths and 464,774 recoveries.
The number of confirmed cases in Russia stands at 537,210 with 7,091 fatalities and 284,539 recoveries.
Spain has confirmed 291,189 coronavirus cases, with 27,136 deaths with the number of recoveries currently unknown.
The covid-19 cases in France now stand at 157,372 with 29,436 fatalities and 73,044 recoveries.
The number of reported cases in South Africa currently stands at 73,533 with 1,568 deaths and 39,867 recoveries. Egypt has 46,289 reported cases with 1,672 fatalities and 12,329 recoveries.
In East Africa, Uganda has registered 705 cases with 0 deaths and 299 recoveries. Rwanda has 612 coronavirus cases with 2 deaths and 338 recoveries.
Meanwhile in Kenya, 133 more people have tested positive for covid-19, bringing the number of confirmed vid-19 cases in the country to 3,727 cases so far.
Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe has said the new cases were confirmed out of 3,365 samples that were tested in the past 24 hours.
At the same time, 33 recoveries were registered even as the country’s death toll rose to 104 after one more patient succumbed to the virus.
