Former Starehe MP Wanjiru hospitalised for contracting coronavirus
Former Starehe Member Parliament Bishop Margaret Wanjiru is in hospital after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
This came as Kenya confirmed 80 cases in a single day 41 of them in Nairobi bringing the total to 1,109.
Sources confirm that the former MP and founder of the Jesus Is Alive Ministries had hosted 18 people at her house before she fell ill. All the contacts were traced and quarantined. Later on, eight others including the former Starehe MP also tested positive.
She reportedly hosted people in her house for a prayer meeting after which one of the attendants tested positive.
It is unclear whether the politician is on a ventilator or just an oxygen concentrator which would mean a less serious infection.
However, Kenyans have disregarded the orders and are still gathering. It is these gatherings that are making it difficult to flatten the curve. Kenyans will be hoping that action will be taken on Bishop Wanjiru for disregarding a govt directive.
