South Sudan confirms first COVID-19 case

South Sudan has confirmed its first case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) becoming the latest country in Africa to report to announce the virus.

The case was confirmed by S.Sudan Vice President Riek Machar on Sunday.

South Sudan entered into the register for countries across the globe that continue to struggle with the health crisis brought about by COVID-19.

According to Machar, the case is for a 29-year old patient who arrived in the country from Ethiopia on February 28, and that she was being treated in isolation.
