KCC launches 100% lactose-free milk

Milk processor and marketer KCC has partnered with Finnish firm Valio dairy limited and Tetra Pak ltd to launch the first 100% lactose-free milk in the country.

The milk named after KCC’s product gold crown aims to give lactose intolerant customers an option to enjoy milk and dairy products.

Speaking at the launch, the KCC Managing Director Nixon Sigev said gold crown lactose-free milk is a response to the recent prevalence of lactose intolerance cases in the country and region.

He further added that launching the lactose-free milk is a signal of KCC’s commitment to continue investing in product research and development, widening the range of lactose-free products including fermented, flavoured and fat-reduced range of products.

The milk will be available in a 250ml, 500ml and 1-litre packs, and will retail at KES 150 per litre.
